Construction is set to restart on an Aurora apartment complex at Colfax Avenue and Peoria Street that was destroyed in a massive fire in December 2023. The blaze broke out on the top floor of the five-story building while it was under construction and quickly spread. Firefighters attempted to battle the flames from inside, but worsening conditions forced crews outside and triggered a fifth-alarm response.
