Description
A New Orleans police officer faces multiple charges after authorities said he coordinated and paid women for sexual acts while on duty, according to the Louisiana State Police.
Terrance “TJ” Johnson, 56, assigned to the NOPD 8th District in the French Quarter, turned himself in Wednesday at the Orleans Parish Justice Center. He was booked on two counts of prostitution, three counts of malfeasance in office, and two counts of injuring public records.
Investigators found Johnson listed on Danette Colbert’s phone as “TJ Popo,” slang for police. The Louisiana State Police confiscated and searched the phone as part of the ongoing investigation into the Kansas City reporter’s death.
Colbert, Rickey White and Christian Anderson plead not guilty in July in the death of Kansas City reporter Adan Manzano, who was in New Orleans to cover the Super Bowl.
