Ramos and Merfeld became friends while working together for the past four months at a restaurant on Harvey Street, where Merfeld worked as a server and Ramos works as a busboy. According to Ramos, the first time she approached him with the plan to murder her 27-year-old husband Jacob, he didn’t take her too seriously.
