Justin Timberlake

Supplies

RCA Records

Kurator partnered with RCA records and Freenjoy to create a music video for Justin Timberlake’s hit song “Supplies.” The concept began with a powerful opening scene featuring Justin Timberlake sitting in front a large wall of televisions flashing scenes from recent social movements like #BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo, and #NoBanNoWall. The filmmakers wanted to find authentic footage for this scene, but had their hands full shooting and producing the remain footage.

RCA and Freenjoy hired Kurator to research, curate, and license over 100 clips that to complete the scene. Kurator worked from the original creative brief, sourcing powerful and recognizable moments from social media, television news outlets, and a variety of stock footage platforms. Once the final options were selected, Kuratored handled the licensing agreements between RCA records and each content producer.

RCA and Freenjoy trusted Kurator to provide research and clearance services for this important footage, giving the filmmakers time to focus on their own production and creative vision. The resulting music video blends third-party content in a seamless and creative way, adding meaning and relevance to this timely video.
