Date of crime: March 5, 1984 in Houston, TX
Date of arrest: January 2015
On the morning of March 5th, 1984, 33-yr-old Yleen Kennedy was supposed to give her father a ride to the doctor. When she didn't show, he became concerned, and went to her home in the Heights area of Houston, TX. When he arrived around 8:25am, the front door was ajar, and to his shock he found 2 of his daughters, Yleen and Lille Kennedy had been murdered. Lillie had been shot in the head, and Yleen had been shot, stabbed and sexually assaulted. The home appeared ransacked. The case went cold for 30 years, until Houston Cold Case Detective Paul Motard began working on the case. After receiving information from a tipster in Indiana, Detective Paul Motard zeroed in on a man named Edmond Degan as a suspect. A DNA test confirmed that Edmond Degan was responsible for the crime, and he was arrested in January 2015. In February 2017 he pled guilty in exchange for 15 years in prison.
