Description
1930-1944: Poland. This documentary examines the destruction of Warsaw by the Nazis during September 1939 and the efforts of the Polish underground to rebel. Scenes of Warsaw before and after the German invasion, including views of the destroyed Jewish ghetto after the uprising. We see Polish partisans, attacks on German trains and people who commemorate the Polish rebels. We also see newspaper reports on the Warsaw uprising in 1944. Finally we see the "Tomb of the unknown soldier" in Warsaw (before the war) with the Saxon Palace in the background.
