Description
1945, May 8th, Berlin: German capitulation, unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany, the surrender of Germany. Field Marshal Wilhelm Keitel and other German representatives sign the unconditional surrender documents for all German forces to the Allies, explicitly surrendering to Soviet forces, in the presence of General Georgi Zhukov and air marshal Tedder (USA). The signing ceremony takes place in a former German Army Engineering School in the Berlin district of Karlshorst. We see Berlin, totally destroyed and bomb damaged. The damaged Brandenburg Gate, the Hotel Adlon and the Reichstag.
