ISRAEL-SYRIAN BORDER TALKS The countries of Israel and Syria meet for the first time in eight years to conduct talks aimed at a lasting peace along the 48-mile border separating these nations. The first two sessions, one on each side of the frontier, are unsuccessful but future talks are scheduled.
