Mountain home offers classes to Latakia's displaced children As fighting rages between Syrian regime forces and rebels, many children find themselves without a home or school. In a small house hidden on Jabal Turkmen (or mountain of the Turkmen), about 250 internally displaced children who fled the city of Latakia attend classes. Run by 15 students from the University of Latakia, the makeshift school is divided into ten classrooms and operates five hours a day, when the sunlight can illuminate the dark rooms.
