Rio de Janeiro opens new art museum Rio de Janeiro plans to celebrate its 448th anniversary on Friday with the inauguration of a new museum, the Rio Museum of Art (MAR), designed as the cultural heart of the port area currently undergoing a 40 million dollar renovation.
