CAR: villagers form "Anti-Balaka" self defense groups Following numerous abuses by Seleka, the inhabitants of several villages in the Central African Republic region of Ouham formed a self-defense group called "Anti-Balaka", starting their operations on September 6, 2013. Through the creation of this group these villagers protect themselves, their families and their property. Armed with rifles and craft materials, they launch attacks against Seleka patrols or Muslims.
