EU end training of Mali's 2nd battalion for deployment to north A ceremony was held on Saturday to mark the end of the European Union Training Mission (EUTM) to train Mali's 2nd battalion to help continue the fight against Islamists in the north of the country. The battalion has been named "Elou" which means "elephant" in Tamasheq language. It is formed of 700 men who were given a 10-week training within the framework of the European Union Training Mission.
