Description
OPEC at 'consensus' to hold oil output ceiling OPEC members were meeting Wednesday in Vienna to discuss oil production, with Venezuela's energy minister saying at the start of the conference that the cartel had a "consensus" to maintain its oil output ceiling. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which accounts for one third of the world's oil, has held its production ceiling at 30 million barrels per day (bpd) for almost three years. The meeting also takes place amid reports that Nigeria's oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, could be a candidate to succeed Abdullah El-Badri as OPEC secretary-general. A vote is not due until December. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITESREFILING TO CORRECT NAME IN SOUNDBITES 3 AND 4
