'Charlotte Salomon' to premiere at Salzburg Festival 'Charlotte Salomon', a new opera by French composer Marc-Andre Dalbavie and directed by acclaimed director Luc Bondy, will premiere at the prestigious Salzburg Festival on Monday. This new creation, performed in French and German, is based on the life of the real Charlotte Salomon, a Jewish German artist who fled the Nazis to France and began to paint about her life and her family while in exile, before she was deported in 1943 and killed in Auschwitz.
