Libyans rally in Tripoli to support the army Libyans took to the street on Friday to support "Operation Dignity", launched by retired general Khalifa Haftar at Martyrs' Square in Tripoli. The Libyan government urged all militias to withdraw from Tripoli and stay out of politics, after the parliament speaker had called for ex-rebels from Misrata to "protect the capital." Haftar launched an assault on Islamists in the city on May 16, 2014 in which at least 79 people were killed. IMAGES
