Description
Cannes Spotlight: Syria documentary uses amateur footage 'Silvered Water, Syria Self-Portrait' by Syrian director Ossama Mohammed is a poignant, poetic and at times unbearable documentary presented at the Cannes Film Festival. Made with amateur videos sent over the internet, it depicts a barbaric conflict largely ignored by the international community. Also at the festival is Simav, fresh in from Syria, who had provided him with the footage he used for the documentary. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
