Description
'Shell shock' tapestry at St Paul's Cathedral for WWI centenary An embroidered altar frontal has been reinstated in London's St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War I. The tapestry was created in 1918 by 138 severely injured servicemen in hospitals around the country -- a process to help their rehabilitation from the effects of shell shock. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
