Description
'Lights Out' memorial to commemorate WW1 centenary "The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time" : those are the iconic lines spoken by Britain's Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey on the eve of the First World War in August 1914. A new commemoration in London involving Sir Edward Grey's great great nephew Adrian Grey is using the phrase to mark the First World War's centenary. The campaign encourages people to turn their lights out on the evening of August 4th in remembrance of the outbreak of the Great War. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
