Slavyansk families find shelter in Ukraine monastery The Orthodox monastery in Svyatogirsk, 25 kilometres (12 miles) from Slavyansk in eastern Ukraine, has recently made it known that it is able to provide shelter for refugees from the violence engulfing the region. The civilian death toll continues to rise in Slavyansk, a town of 110,000 people which has become the epicentre of the conflict.
