Kenya’s toughest marathon kicks off The Lewa marathon is regarded as one of the toughest in the world, hosting runners from over 20 countries in one of Kenya's national parks. In 15 years the event has raised over $4.2 million, which goes towards wildlife conservation as a catalyst to alleviate poverty, reduce conflict, and improve education in rural areas rich in biodiversity.
