Green 'Earthship' homes doing their bit to save the planet Amidst worries about global warming and resource depletion, some US communities have turned to ultra-sustainable housing. Known as ‘Earthships’, these homes are made largely of recycled materials and rely on the sun and rain to keep them cut off from electricity and water networks.
