COP20: Indigenous activist calls for preservation of territories Ruth Buendia, a Peruvian activist and president of the indigenous organization CARE, spoke at the UN Climate Conference in Lima on Wednesday. She belongs to the native community Ashaninka in the Peruvian Amazon, one of the communities most affected by the concession of their lands to oil and hydroelectric companies.
