French mayor refuses to allow burial of Roma baby The mayor of a French town has caused uproar by refusing to allow the burial of a Roma baby in a municipal cemetry. The right-wing mayor of Champlan, Christian Leclerc, has drawn accusations of racism for turning down the request to bury of the infant, who died on 26 December.
