Dewani: defence applies to have the case thrown out Shrien Dewani is acccused of arranging to have his wife, Anni, killed during their honey moon in South Africa in 2010. South Africa's Criminal Procedure's Act allows a case to be dismissed if the judge rules that there is not enough evidence for a conviction.
