Israel: controversial Arab MP disqualified from March elections The Israeli electoral committee has disqualified on Thursday Arab MP Hanin Zoabi, a controversial political figure in Israeli politics, from the upcoming legislative elections due to be held on March 17. The committee had been called upon by the Likud (rightwing) and Yisrael Beiteinu (ultra-nationalist rightwing) parties who consider Zoabi to defend "the armed fight against Israel."
