Description
Palestinian PM in solidarity meeting with West Bank village Palestinian PM Rami Hamdallah visited on Monday the West Bank village of Susya, which is threatened with demolition by the Israeli army, in the presence of representatives form the European Union. In May 2015 the Israeli court gave the green light to military orders to demolish this village, located in the South Hebron Hills, and relocate its 340 Palestinian residents nearby. According to Human Rights Watch, the villagers built the homes in 1986 on agricultural land they owned, after being evicted by Israel from their previous dwellings on land declared as an archaeological site. Israeli authorities then argued that the new site was unsuitable for habitation due to its remote location, HRW said. IMAGES
