Burkina vote: Female candidate Sérémé gives hope for equality Saran Sérémé, a candidate for the PDC (Party for development and change) is one of just two female candidates out of the 14 vying for presidency in Burkina Faso. A politically engaged businesswoman, Sérémé played a role in the the October 2014 uprising which led to the ousting of former leader Blaise Campaoré.
