Pro-Kirchner crowds march in 1st anti-gov't protest in Argentina Tens of thousands of protesters marched Thursday in front of the Argentine Congress to defend a controversial Kirchner-era communications law banning the concentration of media power in the hands of a few companies, which the country's new president Mauricio Macri plans to scrap. Demonstrators also protested against Macri's use of decree powers to name two Supreme Court judges in his first week in power, and against the lifting of dollar controls which have caused the peso to lose 30% of its value.
