Eder's Euro winning goal has brought victory to GBissau: family Eder Lopes scored the winning goal in extra time of the Euro 2016 final to bring Portugal its first European Championship title in victory over France. The 28-year-old was brought on as a substitute after star striker Cristiano Ronaldo was injured. While Eder plays for Portugal, he was born in the former Portuguese colony of Gissau-Bissau in west Africa where members of his family still live.
