Kenyan conservationists build jumbo elephant fence A 100 mile long fence is being erected in Laikipia, Kenya to stop elephants entering farmland, to improve safety for people and crops and to protect the animals from poachers. Laikipia, near Mount Kenya, is home to some 6,300 elephants -- as well as farmers trying to earn a living from the same lands.
