Argentina's Madres de Plaza de Mayo mark 2,000 Thursday protests Thousands of Argentines turned out to support the Madres de Plaza De Mayo and its leader, Hebe de Bonafini, as the NGO made their 2,000th Thursday protest march. Since April 30, 1977, the Madres have come to the Plaza de Mayo, in front of the seat of government, every Thursday to complete their now legendary rounds demanding justice for their missing children.
