Time for winter, and kimchi festival in Seoul As part of the Kimchi Festival, people gather in Seoul to prepare over one hundred tons of kimchi to share with the underprivileged neighbours. People participate in Korea’s history-long culture of Kimjang, making kimchi as a communal practice of preparing food for the winter and sharing kimchi with families, friends, and communities. Kimjang has been recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage asset.
