Electric version of iconic London black cab unveiled A electric version of London's iconic black cab was launched on Tuesday, with the new taxi now officially certified to pick up passengers on the streets of the UK capital. The plug-in hybrid vehicle, which has a small petrol generator to recharge its battery, complies with regulations coming into force in January 2018 which require all new London cabs to be capable of emitting zero emissions.
