Turkey's Erdogan remains firm on operation 'Olive Branch' Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vows to "crush" YPG militia as the country enters the second week of its offensive against the Kurdish militia in northern Syria. Turkey launched operation "Olive Branch" on January 20 against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia in its western enclave of Afrin, supporting Syrian opposition fighters with ground troops and air strikes.
