Reconstruction of the basilica of Saint-Denis gets underway The start of the reconstruction of the spire of the basilica of Saint-Denis is launched by Culture Minister Françoise Nyssen, whose objective is for the necropolis of the kings of France to be "as recognised as Notre-Dame". After 30 years of discussions, the government gave the green light for the project in February 2017.
