Palestinian artists decorate tents with paintings near border Palestinian artists draw a scene representing the Nakba, or the 'catastrophe', marking when more than 700,000 Palestinians fled their land during the war that led to the creation of Israel in 1948, on a tent in the al-Bureij refugee camp, in the Gaza Strip, on the eastern border with Israel. Protesters have set up "tent camps" along the border and approached the fence around Gaza for the past two Fridays in a row, burning tyres and hurling stones at Israeli forces, who responded with tear gas and live ammunition.
