Indonesia: Suharto museum draws crowds 20 years on Twenty years after his resignation at the height of the Asian financial crisis in May 98, and 10 years after his death, former dictator Suharto still draws crowds to a museum in the village of his birth. The museum, which opened in 2013, was built by one of Suharto’s relatives to portray the dictator in a softer light as a strong nation builder.
