International activists join forces to combat clerical abuse Victims of child abuse by clergymen and human rights activists from around 15 countries are in Geneva to launch an international initiative which aims to put pressure on the Catholic Church to put an end to sexual abuse within the institution. The group, "Ending Clergy Abuse" (ECA), is meeting with UN officials in Geneva, where Pope Francis is scheduled to visit later this month and will meet with the World Council of Churches.
