Giant Gaza shoe installation in Brussels A giant installation made with 4,500 pairs of shoes is set up in Brussels by pro-Palestinian activists to draw attention to the plight of people in Gaza. The initiative by global activist movement Avaaz comes just a few hours ahead of a EU Foreign Ministers meeting in the Belgian capital. Avaaz campaigners are asking European leaders to impose sanctions on Israel. Recent events in Gaza and the move of the US embassy to Jerusalem are on the EU foreign ministers’ agenda, among other international issues.
