Lebanese report claims many beaches are free of pollution The Lebanese National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) releases a report about the state of pollution of the Lebanese coast, claiming that out of the 25 beaches studied, the waters of 16 of them are clean. Lebanon has been experiencing an acute garbage disposal crisis for several years, often piling up in large dumps along the coast and pouring into the sea.
