Description
German court wants to end part of the Love Parade stampede trial The criminal trial for the Love Parade tragedy, which killed 21 people in 2010, is expected to continue, but probably only against three of the ten accused. The Duisburg court proposed to halt the proceedings against all the defendants, arguing that there was no way it could hear the more than 500 witnesses before July 2020, when a 10-year statue of limitations expires. However, three of the accused, former staff of event organiser Lopavent, insisted the trial continue for them to allow them to clear their names. The final decision on the continuation of this marathon trial is expected tomorrow. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES of the lawyers of the victims' relatives
