Iran files reveal detention and murder of journalists At least 860 journalists and citizen journalists were "arrested, detained or executed" by the Iranian regime between 1979 and 2009, according to Reporters Without Borders, which says it has obtained an "official register" from Iranian judicial authorities. The organization held a press conference to release the findings of this previously unpublished document in Paris, in the presence of Iranian lawyer and Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi.
