Chibok marks five years since kidnapping of schoolgirls in 2014 Chibok residents commemorate the five year anniversary of the kidnapping of schoolgirls on April 14, 2014, when Boko Haram gunmen stormed the Chibok girls' boarding school, kidnapping 276 pupils aged 12-17. After negotiations with Boko Haram, 107 of the girls either escaped, were released in exchange for prisoners or were recovered by the army. There are still 112 girls of which there has been no news.
