But while the raw product has typically been exported for sale on a competitive market dominated by India, Benin has now begun local processing. The Fludor factory has added another string to its bow by manufacturing Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) made from a by-product of the hard outer layer, which can be used in industrial products as a more natural alternative.
