Eleven tonnes of rubbish collected from Mount Everest Bags of trash weighing nearly 11 tonnes brought from Mount Everest to the capital by army helicopters and trucks were handed over to a local recycling company. Global warming means melting glaciers are revealing rubbish which has gathered over decades of mountaineering by climbers who pay little attention to the ugly footprint they leave behind.
