Palestinian official cautiously welcome Oman embassy move Senior Palestinian official Hanan Ashrawi holds a press conference in the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Ramallah whereby she cautiously welcomes Oman's announcement it would open an embassy in the Palestinian territories, but warns the Gulf state against formalising relations with Israel. The Omani announcement coincides with a US-led economic workshop in Bahrain to unveil a Middle East peace plan which is not expected to recognise an independent Palestinian state.
