Description
War, depression, suicide: American veterans are finding help Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are two afflictions common among veterans of the US army.\\nAs they cope with the difficult return to civilian life, veterans have an added handicap: in their former military culture, asking for help could be seen as showing weakness. Psychological support groups like the 'Dwyer Project' have been multiplying across the United States, to help men and women overcome their challenges and thoughts of suicide. The Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Project hosted a "Wellness Day" at a park in the coastal village of Center Moriches.\\n IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
