Bordeaux's 'MECA': a contemporary arch dedicated to art A huge "M" shaped arch with asymmetrical legs, 37m high and 120m long: this is the MECA, a concrete vessel with futuristic lines opening its doors in Bordeaux. This 18,000 m2 building is entirely dedicated to contemporary culture. It brings together three institutions: the Regional Fund for Contemporary Art (FRAC), the Book, Film and Audiovisual Agency (ALCA) and the Artistic Office of the Region (OARA).
