Nearby Paris, a shelter for female victims of domestic abuse 'SOS Women Alternative' is a women's refuge and safe haven for victims of domestic abuse who have nowhere else to turn. Set up 33 years ago, it welcomes around 100 women each year, offering psychological and moral support to them and their children for up to 10 days before they are able to find a more stable arrangement.
