Women's groups demand "massive" funds to combat violence A day before the start of a "National Forum on Domestic Violence", women's groups meet in Paris to demand concrete "results" from the government in the shape of increased financing to help victims of a phenomenon which is on the increase. The Women's Foundation is demanding "at least 500m euros... five or six times the current budget in order to have an adequate response to the plight of 230,000 women each year," says its president Anne-Cécile Mailfert.
